huh...looks like he knows where he's going so...
Ender silently begins to follow the footsteps, dagger still ready in hand.
Remember...this time remember to get information. Unless he takes you somewhere where there are more people, take the chance you get. A knife at one's neck usually convinces one to give you information...afterwards, you can dispose of him..."
Ender grins and continues to track the footsteps through the hallways.

Ian sat back in his chair, and stared at the screen quietly. I...was never the best at Geography, but I know enough to tell that that's not, right.
...
This is the second time this has happened, but, I...I can't figure out what it means, and...What's with the numbers this time around...? They, seem eerily familiar, but...can...I can't place them...They're just...so bizarre...
...I feel, tired...My arm...hurts...What...the hell did you do to me...Alan? ...Did...Akira...get this too? She, wasn't talking...About it...I...No...It's so confusing...There's so much to think about...Like...Why...Am I...
The dull ring of an elevator in the distance slowly brings Ian back to reality. He blinks once, and then realizes that everything appears to be in slow motion, and blurry. The black-haired boy looked back, and saw the ground coming up to meet him. His mind pieced together what had happened; obviously, lost deep in thought, he had leaned back too far and caused the chair to tip over. Now, both he and his laptop were about to suffer the price. His mind had already pieced together about 100 manners of escape, but he was too lazy to use any of them. Really, the best approach was just to do nothing, and-
"Ian!"
At this call, his eyes snapped open, his arm lunged out for his laptop, his feet met with the edge of the desk, and he kicked off.
Against all odds, he landed rather safely, as his feet, sandal-clad, skidded across the marble floor. He rested against the cubicle opposite to the chair, laptop gripped tightly in his right hands. Unlike any expression previously worn on his face, his eyes were opened wide, and his forehead bearing many lines of relief akin to someone involved in many a battle. He gazed at the chair quietly, still crouched.
Akira looked at him, worried. "I...Ian? Are you alright?"
He did not respond, merely got up and looked at the elevator. "I'm not the only one who heard that elevator. Akira. Let's split up. You head down to catch whoever is in it, and...I'll take your place in meeting this Spector guy. Floor 15. Room 15025."
"I...guess, from here on in, only luck has a chance of getting us back together." He starts to walk towards the elevator, but pauses mid-way.
"And...Akira? Be careful."
He continues to walk into the elevator to go to the 15th floor, unless interrupted.

"NO! Stop!" Akira grabs the back of his shirt.
"You know this voice.. person... probably isn't gonna let us have things our way. If we split up now... then we'll probably never see each other again. You could end up being lost for all eternity... or something." Akira lets go and stands behind Ian, who had stopped.
"I think we should catch whoever is in the elevator; Mr. Spector can wait a few minutes."

...I'm not going anywhere...
Ian pauses, his hair over his face. He closes his eyes, and then opens them again.
He turns around slowly and meets Akira in the eye, a blank look on his face. "You see no reason to trust Alan, then?"
She nodded, looking both determined and strong. It was quite clear that what she said was what she believed. Ian continued to gaze at her for a couple moments, before finally looking away and sighing.
"Yet, you believe him when he says he won't let you live."
The young girl frowned at this. "Well, I-"
"Nevermind." Ian starts to walk past her, eyes squinting at the ground. "It doesn't matter, anyways. At least, not yet." He stops walking, standing right next to her.
"Akira...I don't want any harm to come to you or anyone else, believe me. That's exactly why I want you to promise me this: You will not interfere with any of my methods of finding out the truth or handling matters." He glances sideways at her, catching a glimpse of the confused expression now plastered on her features. "If you agree, I'll come with you. If you don't, I won't. It's as simple as that."
"So? Do, you agree?"

"Well... I..." Akira sighs. "I agree. But only if we stay together. I'm really not sure if we'll be reunited if we split up." Akira extends her hand and Ian shakes it.
"Now.. where to, Ian?"

((Well... you seem to have things in control... for now...))
Ender (Dementia)
The footsteps start leading you down a twisty little maze of passages... or a maze of little twisty passages... or a little maze of twisty passages... whatever. Anyway, you keep following it around until they stop in front of a door. The door bears the numbers "01110", and a small map to the side shows that you are in the SE sector of the asylum.
What now?
Akira and Ian (Commonplace)
After having agreed to stay together, the elevator dings again... and again... and again, until the dinging starts irritating your ears. An earth-shaking explosion rocks your world, sending you flying into the now open elevators. Akira falls into the left one, while Ian falls to the right.
The elevator doors close, and they start moving in the opposite directions.
Akira (Void)
Akira, having been sufficiently knocked out, regained conciousness slowly.
The elevator is still intact, you are not harmed, and the doors to the elevator are not open.
Ian (Warzone)
You regain conciousness, but you don't like what you see: You are suddenly in army fatigues (desert camoflauge to be exact), and you seem to be in a war-scarred village, with no signs of civilians. You are holding an AK-47 machine gun, and have 5 grenades, along with 4 magazines of bullets for your gun.
A man dressed in the same garb as you, albeit holding a larger gun, barks "PRIVATE! Move to Objective A, NOW!"
Your arm is in serious pain, but it seems to be from a bullet wound.
((MWEEHEEHEEHEE...))

Akira, now standing up on shakey legs, grasps at the elevator walls. The floor vibrates a little under her feet, so she must be moving.
"I... I wonder where I'm going to end up?" Akira looks at the top of elevator, where the floor buttons were. That's when realization hits her. "I... still... I have to meet Mr. Spector!" The elevator jerks a little, and Akira finds herself sitting on the floor. Still dazed, she squints at the blinking numbers.
Aww... So much for sticking together... XD... "And a lone bird cried out, 'No hope, no hope'- ;_;"...

Ender silently approaches the the person...then whips the dagger around his (her?) neck. He puts his other hand on the man's mouth. The dagger nicks the man's throat, and a tiny stream of blood flows.
"Okay...you will stay silent. Any struggle, and you die...you will answer all my questions, and you might just live..."
Ender grins coldly from behind the man.

Akira (Void)
The lights blinking are for the floors 03, 10, and 15. The LED display says 03110. You try to scream out, but nobody responds. You are the only sound.
Ender (Dementia)
You look very, very carefully at your hostage. Or at least, your lack there of. There is nobody there, you aren't plunging your dagger into anybody, and the local inmates are laughing at you wildly.
The door to the storage room is open and ajar.

Akira stares at the numbers. "This really is... a pain...Don't you think?" She suddenly realizes that Ian wasn't in the elevator with her, and bangs at the elevator doors. After a little while, she gives up, sits on the floor hoping that Ian was alright, wherever he was, and watching the numbers.
The LED display glowing 03110 seemed familiar... Akira remembered catching a glimpse of a map of New Hampshire on that laptop Ian was using. "Does... Am I in New Hampshire then? And what was with that Arch?"
The light for floor 15 blinked twice, as if to catch her attention. "Oh yes!" Everything came back to Akira. She had to meet Mr. Spector on Floor 15.
Akira gets up.

What the hell...
Ender clutches his dagger and looks around.
What the hell is wrong with me...
In a rage, Ender attempts to stick his dagger in the chest of one of the inmates.
There must be someone here, someone alive, someone who knows something, someone to die...

Akira (Void): After looking at the "15" button, you notice another button flashing red instead of yellow: 88.
Then, all of the numbers start wildly flashing random colors, like the room before the office. After about 10 seconds of blinding light, the light turns off, the displays shut off, and the elevator door opens.
There is nothing outside. Nothing at all.
Ender (Dementia): Your attempt to end the lives of one of the hysterical inmates fails miserably. Even though he's insane, he's still smart enough to retreat behind the bars. Your arms are too thick for the bars, and therefore, just miss him by an inch.
Suddenly, you feel as if you were you were punched in the head (which you weren't), and everything swirls into each other as you start to fall backwards. You black out.
Ender (Dementia-Nightmare): You "wake up". Everything is black, except for you. You are still who you were, how you were, and holding what you were holding when you fell.
A calm yet maniacal voice simply says: "Hello, Ender."

Akira blinks twice and steps out of the elevator, cautiously. Her footsteps echo in the empty void before her, her gentle breathing is reflected back to her ears.
"Hello?" she asks, knowing the answer. Oh? Ohh? Ohhhhhh...?
"Great," she says aloud, ignoring the echo. "Just what I need..." Eeed...eeeeed... Akira aimlessly walks around for a little bit, her footsteps and breathing keeping her a dismal and lonesome company. Akira looks to both sides or her, glances behind and concludes: Yes. There's absolutely nothing here. She tries stamping on the "floor" she's walking on. Now what?

"....****....Did I ever mention that I hate you, Mr. I'm-an-insane-sadistic-maniac-who-loves-smiley-faces?"
Sighing, Ender gets up and quickly reviews his surroundings and his little collection of items, checking his pockets, as he had done earlier in his dream.
If this is another dream....

Ender (Dementia-Nightmare)
"Ah, this is no dream." There is, in your pockets, 5 bullets of an unknown caliber, 5 dimes, 1 quarter, 1 nickel, and 3 pennies. "This is a nightmare. This is madness. You were following footsteps, no?"
Akira (Void) You stamp on the "floor" and it echoes in this... nothingness. There seems to be a small pinpoint of light a good mile-or-so away, but there is pretty much nothing else. A voice crackles out of nowhere: "Ah. I see you've made it here... let's see if you can get OUT."

"Yeah...what about it..."
nuts...lost my dagger...
Ender got up, winding the straitjacket into a cord. He whipped it at the wall, which resulted in a satisfying snap.
Wielding this make-shift whip, Ender begins to search the room for an exit.

Akira decides to start running towards the light, her footsteps echoing throughout the Void. She runs and runs and runs, and just when she thinks she's going to stop, she keeps running. Her hard breathing fills the emptiness of the Void as she moves forward. For some time, Akira just runs, until she is out of breath. Panting, she looks up at the light to see her progress. Is she any closer than before? Akira loses sight of the light for a second, then quickly regains sight of it. Aha!

Akira (Void)
The light, no matter how fast you run, is not getting bigger... it's constantly out of reach, almost taunting you to come chase it. Strange music, almost somber, fills the void. The voice crackles over the music "You know, I don't think you're doing it right."
Ender (Dementia-Nightmare)
Ok, so now you have a straightjacket-whip. Good for you. Obvious exits are nowhere. The walls are oddly smooth... it's as if you are in a metal cube of sorts.

Ian frowned as he woke up in a surrounding just as strange as the last, but completely different in concept.
...? What...What happened...?
He scratched his head, which throbbed in pain.
Ugh...I...can't seem to remember a whole lot...
A distant gunshot brought him out of thinking and into focus about the scenery. He noted that he seemed to be in some sort of deserted village, that he was dressed up in military garb, that his arm had taken a bullet (In his mind, Ian grinned grimly as he imagined a group of people sobbing over him, including a girl of around his age, as his shoulder bled profusely), and that one of a seemingly higher rank was telling him to get to Objective A.
...
Oh. Uhm. Objective A, right.
...Where is that, again...? I wonder, why I enlisted into the military in the first place...Losing your memory is so weird... He sighed, and decided to play along.
"Right. Uhm, about, that, I, was kindof preoccupied during the, briefing, for this whole operation (I, recall a group of nurses standing next to the doorway), uh, sir. I, appear to have..." He bit his tongue.
"...temporarily forgotten the, uhm, location, of this objective. A, that is. Yes. Objective...A."
Ian looked down as he scratched his head again in embarrasement.
Weird...I distinctively remember three words...Akira, Alan, and Ian...names, it looks like. Hmm...I wonder which one is mine...
...Probably Alan. My god, I pity whoever Ian is...What a horrible name...

Ian (Warzone) "You don't know where it is? It's at the enemy's base!" The general points to a large group of houses where various rockets, artillery, and men are coming out of, and being mowed down by men in the same uniform as you, but also with larger guns. Obviously of a higher rank. A soft jangling sound directs you to your dogtags, with the words "[faded out], Ian: Private, 04110". More bullets start whizzing over your head as an enemy soldier escapes the allied ambush and heads over to your position, firing wildly. It seems he's been blinded by gunfire, but is still alive, albeit yelling in pain. A lot of pain.

He blinked.
And then frowned.
This was war, after all. His objective was no doubt to kill the enemy soldier fast approaching him.
But...He'd be killing someone.
What could he do? How could he react? How could he possibly handle this situation, which demanded a mind prepared to kill? Would his mind be unable to handle the situation?!
Without giving it much thought, and while giving a blank frown, Ian promptly hit the enemy over the head with his gun. With a mix between a groan and the previously heard yell, his opponent fell to the ground unconscious.
"Hmm."
Clearly, Ian was not very troubled by the situation.
He checked his dogtag.
"04110...I, think I've heard that somewhere before..."
"...Oh, hey. What's this Ian's guy's name doing on my dogtag?! I, thought my name was Alan...Hmm, it, seems there was some form of mixup in the dogtag publication."
He sighed as a bullet narrowly whizzed by his head. "Hmm, no matter. So..." He turned to where the higher-ranked person had stood. "I guess I'll let you guys handle, this, mess, then...?"

Nope, he's gone. You're all alone... technically. The main battle is at the enemy encampment. Something beeps by you... and it's an MacBook. Specifically, yours.

Ian (Warzone)
The MacBook powers up with a slightly distorted "Ding!". You are greeted with a black and red background, and some sparse icons: The internet, MSN messenger, an untitled word document, and a black smiley face. There's no text under the smiley.
An artillery shell just barely misses the house, and an explosion rocks your body, sending you flying towards the wall. A quick check out the window would reveal that the enemies have overcome the allied invasion and are heading towards your base.

As he hit the wall, head-first, Ian regained all of his memories.
"Ugh...What...? What happened...?"
...
"Deja-vu..." He sighed.
Despite noticing the approaching enemy forces, Ian calmly headed to the laptop and opened up MSN. He tapped the keyboard twice as he waited for the client to load, and while waiting, calmly opened up the word document to examine it.
