--OOC: Well, this is Twilight Hill, a roleplay SoM and I had created a while back that eventually died off (on this other site). We wanted to see how it would work out here. Here is a little debrief on the rules:
So that's pretty simple, no? And We begin. Have fun.--
Prologue
Foror has always been a land of balance. For many years, the dark and the light have been equally balanced. Many centuries ago, a seer from a country to the north, Shiin, had journeyed to the lands of Foror in search of truth. His travels led him to a great mesa. He felt energy thrive from it. He could feel the light and the dark intertwining in a balanced rhapsody that made this land so perfect.
Shiin found a way to harness the energy, without disrupting the balance of darkness and the light. He built a community upon it, who thrived on this energy unknowingly. No longer would the citizens fear short death, no longer would they fear the outside world. With the energy of light and dark he controled, his utopia would be free to live life to it's fullest. He erected a clock tower, allowing him to control the very inner workings of his community.
Things were perfect. Well, they seemed perfect.
One dark day, Shiin, now the lord of his community Twilight Hill, disappeared from existance. He was never seen again. All the locals remember was a blackout. The entire community was shrouded in darkness for a brief moment and he was gone. What had Shiin unleashed?
It had been a tiring day. The journey from Fenris' small village of Kish had taken longer then expected. The wind had just recently picked up and it tossed Fenris' scruffy blond hair around in circles. That was what he had forgotten, a hat.
"Ninh! Hurry up! We will never make it Twilight Hill at this rate and besides it's getti-" Suddenly, the map which Fenris held firmly in his grip tore in two. It was over now. They would never get to Twilight Hill. Fenris dismounted his ride and ran after the map in a frantic attempt to catch it. The map was no longer in sight, but the twenty-one year old pressed on. Faster, faster. He needed to get that ma- BAM! Fenris ran straight into his miniature friend, knocking him over. Ninh's hat went flying into the air, but with a quick swipe of his hand, he caught it.
"Ninh! The map! It's gone, we'll never get there...it's impossible... Oh!" Fenris stopped his ranting when he noticed that Ninh had the map firmly in his clutch.
"Yep, I have it. I have it." Ninh informed Fenris in his ever-so-high pitched voice.
The two headed on farther through the barrens. There was only one dusty path to follow and it seemed to go on forever. The wind had died down, but was replaced by a drought. It seemed as if even the cactus' which spread as far as the eye could see were thirsty. But finally, at around dusk, the pair had made it.
"There, there Bession. You're okay. I'm proud of you for making it this far, most bisson could never do that!" Yes, that's right. A bisson. It had always been strange, Bession always wanted to be ridden and had more stamina then most horses. Fenris dismounted and began to carry his and Ninh's bags and food; his trusty steed needed rest.
The ground upon which they walked was no longer sand and tundra, but of fine grass, rich in vitality. He could see the mountains and Ninh predicted that they would arrive soon. Twilight Hill was a mesa which stood at the base of the Colossels, mountains that ranged all around Foror.
There it was.
Twilight Hill was now in sight. The dusk sun shone brightly and reflected off the great Clock Tower. A the two bells on the side of the tower began to ring. Perfect. They were just in time. Fenris and Ninh embraced the warm feeling they got as they approached the marvelous city. It was composed of many levels; 28 Ninh said. And at the very top level was the Lords Tavern. It wasn't large, but inside it held the most valuble secrets this land had ever known. Rumor has it that it contains the scrolls that Shiin, the founder of Twilight Hill, had written on Twilight Energy, a strange element that is said to be the source that drives Twilight Hill.
"Why is everything so depressing here? So depressing." Ninh said abruptly.
"What are you talking about, it's Twilight Hill, what's there to be depressed about?"
A frail woman then latched onto Fenris' white tunic, and gave him a cold stare. "Have you not heard!?" She said franticly "The festival is coming up, yes, yes, you may think that be good, but no, no, it isn't. Apparently they are coming again this year!"
"Who? Who is coming again this year?" Fenris questioned. He was curious. Never had any of the tales of Twilight Hill told of visitors, at least, ones as seemingly bad as these. The woman pulled Fenris down to her level and moved her mouth so close to his ear, he could feel her breathing.
"The Nexists."
The woman then pushed Fenris away, releasing him from her firm grip, and disappeared into the nearby alley.
"Strange" Fenris thought, "the Nexists."
-Before you post, make a simple character sheet including a name, age, and appearance.
-No godmod please, I'd like things to stay as fair as possible.
-Proper grammar and spelling (no omg, lol, wtf, etc.)
-Please, if your character has some magical special trait or ability, it would be preferred if you would be discreet with it. No one wants their house blown to smithereens by someones special "Ultimate Wind Blast of Perpetuate Doom Spell"
-The RP takes place in sort of a medieval mind set, busy markets, farmers. But with it's own fantasy twist.
-No killing off players, and if you have any suggestions for characters or plot, please PM me or SecretofMana.
